Paranormal evening with West Yorkshire Paranormal
The Leeds Library, Leeds.
The Leeds Library is one of the oldest buildings in the city, opening its doors in 1808. Since then, tales have abounded of strange goings-on between the shelves. From the ghost of a former librarian, to shadow figures, footsteps along galleries, and disembodied voices – there have been many unexplained occurrences in this atmospheric building.
On Friday 13th, we invite you to an evening of the paranormal. There will be a discussion panel with our partners for the event, West Yorkshire Paranormal, about WYP’s experiences during over a decade of exploring some of the UK’s most notorious venues; an opportunity to try out some ghost-hunting equipment and to look round the library; share your own experiences of the unexplained; and of course hear the Leeds Library ghost story - this time, from the perspective of the 1908 librarian himself!
Alcoholic and soft drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

A note about accessibility – Unfortunately, our Grade II* listed building is not currently fully accessible. We have a stair lift from the ground floor foyer to the first floor but are unable to install a through-floor lift due to the building’s historic status. Please email us on enquiries@theleedslibrary.org.uk if you have any questions around access, and we will do everything that we can to accommodate you. The Leeds Library is committed to making its building and collections accessible to everyone in our current capital building works project The Next Chapter Project. https://www.theleedslibrary.org.uk/expansion/
