contrail and Friends: Live at Hyde Park Book Club

Prepare for a night of dizzying new talent as contrail and friends take to the stage at Hyde Park Book Club this December. Expect raw, beautiful, sounds from some of the best new alt-rock bands Leeds can offer.

contrail:
Leeds-based contrail are your dad’s new favorite band—delivering a dynamic mix of melancholic introspection and chaotic energy. The five-piece alt-rock outfit will sweep you away with their wispy vocals, blazing saxophones, and crushing guitars. Contrail’s deeply personal lyrics explore relationships, mental health, and grief, touching on the existential dread of modern life. Drawing inspiration from 90s legends like Radiohead, Elliott Smith, and American Football, as well as modern alt-heroes Title Fight and Alex G, Contrail’s sound is as thought-provoking as it is emotionally charged.

Welfare State:
Joining the bill are Welfare State, a Leeds based Post-Punk five piece with wider influences of Shoegaze. The band, new to the scene, are already a mainstay and have established a strong following.

Dan Gifford
Finally we have Dan Gifford:
Fusing the songwriting influence of Neil Young, Elliot Smith and Nick Drake with the guitars of Nirvana.
Any fans of Wunderhorse or Fontaines DC will fit right in.
Dandelion is a symbol of hope with lyrics to match.
