Formed in Fukuoka Japan in 2012, BRIDEAR is one of Japan’s premier heavy metal bands and is commanding the global stage. With diverse influences from German metal legends Helloween to British prog-pop pioneers Muse, the all-female quintet combines elements of power and melodic speed metal with strong hooks to create a sound unlike any other Japanese artist.

From the beginning, BRIDEAR has been unrelenting. Performing across Japan, the band developed a dedicated following which continued to grow with their first EP Overturn the Doom and first music video ‘Light in the Dark.’ International audiences soon discovered the video online creating a massive buzz and passionate global audience.

Following the 2016 release of their first full-length album BARYTE, the group continued to perform across Japan gaining a reputation for excellent musicianship and engaging live performances. In 2017, BRIDEAR toured Europe for the first time supporting their EP HELIX. Celebrating their 2019 album Expose Your Emotions, BRIDEAR again ventured overseas performing in London at METAL MATSURI, the first all Japanese metal festival outside of Japan.

In 2021, the album Bloody Bride became BRIDEAR's first official international release receiving incredible reviews from international music media and drawing the attention of such publications as Metal Hammer and Guitar Player magazine. In support of the release, BRIDEAR became the first artist from Japan to tour since the onset of the pandemic. Visiting England, Scotland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and France, the tour was a triumphant return to the international stage.

BRIDEAR’s next album, 2022’s Aegis of Athena was ranked #5 in Metal Hammer magazine’s top power metal releases of the year and voted by readers #16 for heavy metal album of the year! The band supported the release with another European tour garnering rave reviews. The tour’s London performance was captured for the band’s first ever live album. Released in 2023, Aegis of London…LIVE! was mixed and mastered by legendary heavy metal producer Fredrik Nördstrom (In Flames, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir, HammerFall) at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden.

BRIDEAR began 2024 by accepting the award-winning producer’s invitation to record their latest album in Sweden. The new album, Born Again, is a mission statement of raw, unapologetic and truly original heavy metal . Produced and mixed by Fredrik Nordström, the album welcomes BRIDEAR into the upper echelon of true international heavy metal.

With ambitions at an all-time high, BRIDEAR is set to further their international reach in 2024 and beyond.
